where Jesus is The Living Word
The RWGC - Rhema Word of God Church Foundation, Inc. is the realization of a long-held dream of setting up a structure to reach out and impact the lives of financially challenged families living in low-income communities surrounding the Rhema Word of God Church.
Poverty defies description. Word are not enough to express the inimitable signs of - hunger, malnutrition, disease, illiteracy, homelessness, joblessness, moral decay, chaos – and the anguish that hurts the human spirit more than it does the body. Sadly, of the 13.8 M families in the country, 4.15 M (30%) are poor.
We have always believed that the life of families and communities should revolve around the church with Jesus the center of people’s lives – the spring from which abundant life proceeds. As such, we believe that our church has a very critical role to play in reaching out to the poor around us by meeting their immediate needs and empowering them to help themselves to eventually help others.
Thus, on July 2011 the RWGC- Rhema Word of God Church Foundation, Inc., was registered with Securities and Exchange Commission with the following goals:
To contribute to the socio-economic development of groups and communities by implementing community development projects that will respond to the identified, felt needs of target communities particularly in the areas of:
1. Character development base on Biblical values
2. Entrepreneurial/business skills development
3. School Assistance for children of poor families through sponsorship
To develop and provide technical education and vocational training for adults and out of school youth.
To develop linkages and partnership with agencies and organizations that can provide financial
and technical support to the programs and projects of the foundation.
Last June 2012, the Rhema Sagip-Eskwela, a school assistance program for the education of children
of poor families were implemented. The assistance started with 35 student beneficiaries from
low-income communities surrounding the church.
We believe that breaking the chains of generational poverty is a service to God and a ministry that carry a divine promise which we claim as stated in Isaiah 58:10-12“If you are generous with the hungry and start giving yourselves to the down-and-out, your lives will begin to glow in the darkness, your shadowed lives will be bathed in sunlight. I will always show you where to go. I'll give you a full life in the emptiest of places — firm muscles, strong bones. You'll be like a well-watered garden, a gurgling spring that never runs dry. You'll use the old rubble of past lives to build anew, rebuild the foundations from out of your past. You'll be known as those who can fix anything, restore old ruins, rebuild and renovate, make the community livable again.” The Message Bible
With God’s grace, we believe that together, we can achieve our goal and reach out to more souls for the Kingdom. In all that we do we ask the Holy Spirit to establish our lives and fill us with compassion and love for the poor as we serve them the way our Savior Jesus did.
